His father, [[Alagir il-Anyatim\|Alagir]], is a renowned craftsman and enchanter. Lacking the magical skill to learn his father's trade and jealous of his brother Alagrim's ability to do so, Angarim grew sullen and rebellious. Sensing his son's pain, Alagir gave him a quest to perform that might allow him to feel a sense of accomplishment as well as remove him from the vicinity of his brother. Angarim was sent out of Keldoras and into the wide world to find magical items his people felt were too dangerous to be at large and return them to the elven kingdom for safe keeping or destruction.
