Belomak
Heart of The World, The Good Smith
Belomak was embraced by the assorted tribes who would later establish themselves as Belosians, citizens of the realm of Argonhiem
The Song of Belos
In the beginning, in the dark valley of Eldar, the gods warred beneath a black sky. From the churned froth of mud and blood Belomak was born. His birthcry was a roiling gout of fire that baked the land around Him. When the other gods beheld Him they quaked and despaired, for there stood their doom.
He wrested a sword from the mightiest god and smote him with it, blasting him to pieces. From his scraps of flesh all the tribes of Argonheim were born. From the dead god's teeth the mountains formed and his blood became the ocean.
With a second swing of the sword He destroyed the second mightiest god, sending countless fragments of armor into the inky void above and these became the stars. The surviving gods quailed and fled.
Belomak wandered the lands until He saw the land suitable for him, but it was infested by the children of another god. He tore his right hand from His arm and crushed it to meal, mixing it with the fertile earth. From this clay
He made the Argonian peoples and with His mouth he breathed his lifefire into them. He chewed off His nails and sharpened them on rocks, and they became the swords of His army.
"Go, my blessed children. Take what is rightfully yours," said He. And so for thirty days His children fought with the dark peoples, finally driving them from the land.
Four seasons passed and the god of the dark peoples crept from his throne and struck Belomaq as he slept. The dark god tore Belomak's heart from his chest and hurled it into the sky, where it became the sun.
Belomak--mortally wounded by the cowardly ambush--fought fiercely; he gripped the dark god by the arms and tore him in two. He ate one half and tossed the other into the sea, where it became Malkost, and its dark children fled away to that land and wailed at the death of their god.
"I am wounded and now I must rest, beloved children," said He.
"Remember me and honor my name. These codes I shall give you to follow until my return. When I return I shall destroy all gods before me and reign eternally. This I promise if you follow my will." And then he lay down in the hot earth and closed it above him.
The Covenant of Belomak
- You shall worship no other gods before me.
- Remember me and worship me twice a day; once at sunrise and once at sunset.
- Refuse no brother aid when requested.
- Strengthen me by increasing my lifeblood; multiply and sacrifice.
- Destroy those who seek to destroy me and mine.
- Forget not the way of the warrior: Honor your superior; never draw a blade when a fist will suffice; cowardice deserves death; he who suffers for me and dies shall reap the sweetest awards in the afterlife.
