Uarthé
The descendants of those Aeldara Tuan who supported with human invaders during the war prior to the Tribulation; some were inspired by avarice, while others fought for ideology. In the old Aeldan tongue their original name, Cestoré, meant keeper but the name they are now called means blind. After the Tribulation they fled from the wrath of their kindred and settled primarily on Ulmeth and Karad. They are also known as Geldar in Common Tongue.
Filial Wars
The Aelda of the city-state of Silwaris separated family groups by function and the ancestors of the Uarthé were the city's protectors. As the early human settlements of Hubrion prospered the proud Uarthé diviners became alarmed at their abundance. They deemed mankind a rival for resources and dominance and foretold the doom of Silwaris. The most zealous among them urged their brethren to subjugate the outsiders. They were denied, and so took it upon themselves to thwart human industry, train themselves for potential conflict, and study baneful sorcery. Their actions were uncovered and met with open outrage by the Silwaré counsel. The offending Uarthé were stripped of their responsibilities and ancestral lands. They staged a coup d'etat that plunged Silwaris into a decades-long series of conflicts called the Filial Wars.
The Uarthé insurrectionists were defeated, deprived of their magics and exiled to the outer reaches of the Valley of Ildaer. They took their families and wealth and built up the land there and over time cooperated with the cities of men, eventually becoming trusted advisors to the lords of Hubrion.
When Silwaris petitioned Hubrion to stop its pollution, it was the Uarthé, led by Karphos il-Mastradare, who were instrumental in influencing the lords of Hubrion to deny them. They in turn fostered a hope of reclaiming Silwaris by using the assembled force of Hubrion, and to that end they bent the will of the people of Hubrion over a course of generations. When Hubrion led its fateful assault on the Aelda, it was joined by the Uarthé exiles and aided by those Uarthé loyalists still within Silwaris.
